Michael J. Robinson-Dorn

Professor Robinson-Dorn is an Assistant Professor of Law and Director of the Berman Environmental Law Clinic at the UW School of Law. In addition to teaching in the Environmental Law Program, Professor Robinson-Dorn also teaches Administrative Law. An honor’s graduate of Cornell University, Professor Robinson-Dorn has extensive experience in both the private and public sectors. Prior to entering academia, he directed the City of Seattle’s Environmental Protection Section, was a principal with Riddell Williams P.S., served as a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice Environment and Natural Resources Division, and worked at Jones Day in Washington, DC, working on natural resources and environmental matters. In addition, Professor Robinson-Dorn served as an extern with the Legal Adviser’s Office at the U.S. Department of State, and as a law clerk to U.S. District Court Judge Morton A. Brody (Maine). He is a member of the bars of Washington, the District of Columbia, and California (inactive), and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Ninth and Tenth Circuits, and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western District of Washington, and for the District of Columbia. Professor Robinson-Dorn is a frequent speaker at conferences and since joining the faculty in 2003 has authored numerous party and amici briefs in the U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal, the U.S. District Courts, and Washington Supreme Court. Michael was recently elected to the Clinical Legal Education Association’s Board of Directors.
